Sorry, this post has been moved to my new website, A Heart Led Life.
Liked FYP on FB under my blog page :)
Am following you on Twitter @LittleMeFrance
I tweeted about this giveaway
Ooh I recommended your blog this morning on my post Four Finds without even knowing about this giveaway – does that count?
And a comment on your review – looks interesting. Haven’t decided what I’ll do if there’s a next time. I don’t consider I failed last time but am interested to know what she says on the matter. Oh, and I know I’m not in the UK but I still have an address there…
Hi, I would like to win this book for our breastfeeding drop-in, we have a selection of books mums can borrow and this would be a great addition!
Martina
I’ve got your email, Martina, because it shows up when you comment (only to me!) :)
fab :-)
Liked FYP on FB, first name: Martina, email address: I don’t want it to show on your comments, how do I go about that?
I shared this give-away on Facebook – and also suggested it to friends so hopefully someone will be over here soon :-)

I don’t tweet or blog so that’s 3 entries from me for now ;-)

Liked FyP on FB after being recommended here by Martina :)
This book looks wonderful, I very successfully bf’d my third child by not the first two for lots of different reasons and I did and still do feel quite guilty that I gave him the ‘better’ start than the others.
I have now gone on to train as peer support counseller which I enjoy so much and I can think of many women this book would have been very useful for, and would love to have it in our BF’ing cafe.
Hi Clare
I think you’d find this book really helpful then – she does discuss that feeling we all have that we want to give our children each the same thing, and about how guilt/grief works. Good luck!
Hi,
Sounds like a book I should have in my kit as a breastfeeding counsellor!
It’s impossible not to compare your experiences with different children, whether that is breastfeeding, returning to work, being generally more chilled second time round (because it is second time round) etc…
Have liked on facebook, followed on twitter @nursingbra , tweeted (well re-tweeted – hope that counts ;-) ) and shared on my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/CariadMam
Best wishes, Emma
Hi Emma – yes, it all counts :) Glad to find your website! Looks great :) Good luck!
Sounds like a much-needed book. I’ve noticed amongst my friends that many who did not manage to breastfeed their first child have tended to formula feed their second from the outset, which seems sad…
Yes, that happens often I think. Are you entering the competition?
This really sounds like the book for me! Had a wonderful experience breastfeeding my first son to 14months. But my confidence has been completely knocked by my experience with my second son, only managing to feed him to 12 weeks – (a combination of poor latch, thrush, lack of support, negative pressure from a new health visitor). Talk about guilt! I am due my third and last baby in 7 weeks, I really would love to redeem the second experience by having a brilliant final one! Am feeling nervous and excited and unsure, so need all the help I can get! Hope
I win a copy! Thanks!
Good luck, Karen! Remember you can get extra chances to win by doing the other things too, and letting me know you’ve done them (twitter/facebook etc.)
I love the sound of your book and feel it would be helpful for the mums I help as a breastfeeding counsellor, particularly at the drop in group I run where there are always plenty of mums who are going through exactly what you describe.
Fingers crossed – I don’t do anything else so only have the one chance!
Helena
Good luck, Helena :)
Hi Clare
I am in the process of setting up a new breastfeeding drop-in at our bumps and babies group. I am in the middle of choosing which books to have in our library for mums to borrow. This book sounds absolutely perfect as so many mums in sheffield have a hard time getting breastfeeding going but they are often very committed. A book like this would be invaluable in helping them come to terms with their experiences and give them confidence to give it another shot second time round. Although we do have a small budget for books it really isn’t going to go very far so I hope you will consider this group for your give-away. I have shared your link on facebook.

Hi Helen
Of course it’s fine for a group to enter! I’ll put two entries in for you for the comment and the facebook share :)
Hi Helen
I have started a breastfeeding support group and also support motheres on a one-2-one basis. I am currently putting together a library of relavent books for the mother’s to borrow and feel that a copy of this book would be a geat addittion to this library. Personally I feel that support for second time breastfeeding mothers can be a rather forgotten area as they can be expected to know what they are doing.
I would love to be lucky enough to win a copy of this book

Just re-tweeted! Unfortunately,I’m not on Facebook! By the way Clare, thank you so much for replying to my email! I am based in Belfast-would you know any breastfeeding counsellors or support groups in my area? I can travel a bit if necessary. Thanks again! K
I’ll have a look in the morning for you, Karen :)
I remember when I stopped breastfeeding my son and one of my colleagues commented on how she felt that, when she was no longer breastfeeding, she felt she was no longer truly a peer of the women she supported. As a mother of one, I have always felt that I wasn’t truly a peer of mothers with more than one child, and in awe of what they achieve with, what seems to me, twice (or more) the challenges! I think this book would give me a bit of insight and empathy with a situation I have never experienced.
I’ve never had to stop breastfeeding my babies before I had to, but obviously have a lot of training and experience in supporting women whose breastfeeding experiences weren’t what they hoped it would be, and I still learned loads from this book! Good luck, Karen!
Liked FYP on FB – Kelly :)
Would love a copy of this book to try and help me understand more about what went wrong first time round with my baby who wouldnt feed and also help me move on and stop being scared what will happen second time round. We managed to combine feed / express for 7 weeks so while i will always be proud of that my desire to BF sucessfully is now stronger than ever.
Good luck, Kelly :)

Just your review of this book reduced me to tears, 19 months after the birth of my son and following counselling, which although was meant to help me deal with my traumatic birth, focused heavily on my ‘failure’ to breast feed. I have dealt with my traumatic birth, I have overcome PND, I no longer fear attending hospital appointments or even giving birth. But I find myself unable to discuss adding to our family as I fear future ‘failure’ will push me over the edge and that successful breastfeeding will result in additional feelings of guilt over my initial ex
Hi Kerry. Thanks for your comment. I’m so sorry you found the review upsetting to read. Are you entering the competition to win the book? It could be so helpful to you to read it – it’s such a wonderful book. x
HI!
I had a very bad bf experience with my first baby. I felt guilty for so long. What with not being able to conceive naturally (ivf baby), not delivering naturally (emergency c-section) and then not being to feed naturally I felt like a total and utter failure. My second baby (still ivf and elective c-section) took to it like a duck to water, but still feel slightly guilty about number 1 as now think I should have persevered…
I like you and I shared you
Hi Valerie. Good luck – if you get the book, I’m sure it will help :)
Hi, I would love this book, as a mommy of one and a HV in my professional life, I really struggled to come to terms with the fact that I was unable to successfully breastfeed my baby past 6 weeks. I completely felt like I had failed for many months as I had received all the training through work and as able to support and advise mom’s to feed but could not take the advice myself! I have got unfinished business with breastfeeding and feel that this book would help me greatly!!!
This book will also be recommended and information passed to the mom’s who I come in contact with through work!!!! xx

I would love a copy of this book as it is a topic I have just covered in a breastfeeding counselling tutorial recently – breastfeeding second time round. I found it very hard to find any useful information and this book sounds excellent – wish I had known of it before.
As a recent second time mum myself, who struggled with establishing breastfeeding first time (and in fact second time as it happens, despite knowing a lot more about the theory of it all and having the experiences I had with my first) I think this would be a really useful book to add to our tutorial group library.
Would love to win this book, as I am a breastfeeding mom who feels trapped at times…the more info I get the more encouragement for me to stay on track! Thanks for the consideration.
